L.A. Kings goalie Jonathan Quick snaps up a home in Manhattan Beach

Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick, currently on the disabled list due to a groin injury, has made a move away from the ice, buying a home in Manhattan Beach for the asking price of $2.95 million.

Found in the Manhattan Beach Tree Section, the shingled ranch-style house was described in the listing notes as a development opportunity. The corner-lot property includes 80 feet of street frontage on one side and 120 feet of frontage on another.

Mature trees and landscaping surround the 1,621-square-foot house, which has four bedrooms and two bathrooms. A two-car garage sits off the front entry.

The home, built in 1947, came to market during the summer and was under contract in about a week, according to the Multiple Listing Service. In August, the median sale price for single-family homes in Manhattan Beach was $2.05 million based on 24 sales, according to CoreLogic.

Vicki Goorchenko of Vista Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent. June Emerson, also with Vista Sotheby’s, represented the buyer.

The 30-year-old Quick is expected to miss about three months after undergoing a nonsurgical procedure in October for his injured groin. The all-star goaltender is in his 10th season with the Kings.
