Readers applaud panda article, gripe about BA and new Travel layout

Does BA stand for ‘bags absent’?
I read it with great interest Catharine Hamm’s column [“Just Bill BA,” On the Spot, Sept. 9] as my family and I are members of the unofficial “British Airways lost luggage losers” group. Of the 26,000 bags they lost during a two-week period in June, four of them belonged to us. (Those stats were given to me by a BA customer service rep.)
One bag was returned with everything in it ruined, wet and moldy. As for British Airways making good on their liability, I am still waiting.

Panda tale bears complimenting
My wife and I enjoyed the article on pandas in American zoos [“It’s Panda-Mania,” Aug. 26]. In April, we visited the Ueno Zoo in Tokyo. We were shocked at the poor quality of the habitat.
I’m happy that you were able to report about the high quality of American panda habitats.

‘Choppy’ pages, smooth writers
I find the newly designed Travel section rather choppy, with ads inserted here, there and everywhere. The airfares section is mostly useless since it is so limited. Also, I miss the current currency rates.
But on the plus side, I am very happy that Christopher Reynolds is again writing for Travel. I’m also happy to see Susan Spano again writing from Asia.
